First-Class disappointment!

I’ve been flying on an airplane since I was 5 years old traveling to Colombia, SA where my mother was born. We always sat at the main cabin/economy seats.
During my married years, I traveled again in the main cabin/economy seats.
I’ve always dreamed to fly first class.
I finally made it! On my recent trip, I had the opportunity to fly back home and upgraded my seat to First Class. I did have to pay a little extra (over $100) but felt it was worth it and who knows when I will get that opportunity again.
The first class allows you to board first! Woohoo! No more waiting for your group to be called.
I walked onto the plane and found my row 4 window seat. That’s right, row 4! 🙌🏼!!
I noticed how wide the seat was. And the legroom is AMAZING!! Feeling super excited 😆 I sat down and noticed the pamphlets did not include anything about first-class service. And then, everything went downhill from there.
First of all, where is the tray to put down? Where is the button to recline or where to plug your device? And what goodies are offered?
The pamphlets are the same ones you see when you sit in the main cabin. Doesn’t give you a diagram on how to navigate your first class seat.
After take-off, it took forever to get the flight attendant to come over. (I didn’t buy water because I knew I was going to get drinks in my first class seat). He asked what I wanted and I received a 6 oz glass of water. He then came over with a basket of snacks. It was dark and I wanted to see the basket 🧺 so I pulled to take it closer to eye level and the flight attendant told me no. I couldn’t believe it. What did he 🤔 I was going to do, take more than 1 snack?!?! It is a first-class seat after all!!
During the whole 5-hour trip, I only received 1 glass of water and 1 bag of snacks. The flight attendant did not come back to collect the garbage until just about landing at Newark Airport. It was the most expensive water and snack I ever had before!!
The first class is so overrated and not sure if it was the airline, the flight attendant, or because it was a red eye, but I left so disappointedly. If I ever have another opportunity like this, I will call customer service first to discuss their first-class process, before doing an upgrade.
By the way…I figured out where the snack tray is. It’s in your arm wrest and you have to pull it out.
For all the airlines: you should have either on your website, on the pamphlet, or during booking seats an explanation or video on what to expect when we sit on your first-class seat. Don’t assume everyone knows.

It's really sad you had a bad experience with First Class! That's terrible! Boo on the airline! I've never flown first class, and envied those people sitting up there with the nice big seats! However, Frank was able to fly first class, and he said it was GREAT! Although I do remember the price of the ticket versus coach was substantially higher in price. I think the airlines are short staffed and just tired of it all.
